Top 10 Wedding Venues in Melbourne City

Melbourne is Australia's second-largest city, and it's the capital of Victoria. It has many famous landmarks, such as the Royal Botanic Gardens and St Paul's Cathedral. It also has many beautiful parks that can be used for wedding venues. Here are 10 of my favorites:

Crown Riverwalk, Southbank

Located on the banks of the Yarra River, Crown Riverwalk is a great venue for photos. The space has lots of natural light and can accommodate up to 300 guests. It can be rented for a flat fee and has a beautiful backdrop for your ceremony.

Fitzroy Town Hall, Fitzroy

This Victorian building is a heritage-listed building that has been used for many purposes over the years. It was built in 1856 and has had many uses including as a market, police station, court house and performance space. Today it is more commonly used as an event venue.

The Fitzroy Town Hall is located in what is known as the heart of Melbourne city - you can't miss it!

The Glasshaus, Richmond

The Glasshaus can host up to 150 guests, and is located in Richmond, which makes it an excellent venue for those who live on the inner-west side of Melbourne. This venue has a very modern feel and offers a range of catering options, from buffet to cocktail style. The decor is versatile and can be altered to fit your vision (or budget).

The Glasshaus offers two wedding packages: Classic or Signature. Both include ceremony and reception room hire, as well as basic decorations such as flowers and lighting. The Classic package includes three hours' worth of catering from the menu chosen by you (including drinks), whereas the Signature package includes four hours' worth of catering; this means that you'll have more time to enjoy your gourmet meal with your guests!

As far as location goes, this venue is great if you’re looking for something secluded with beautiful views—it also makes a great place for photos because there are many outdoor areas nearby that are perfect spots for portrait sessions (and even small photo booths!).

Hamer Hall, Southbank

Hamer Hall is located in Southbank, Victoria and is the home of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO). It opened in 1988 and has a capacity of 1,700 people. The venue has hosted many high-profile artists including Sting, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and Kylie Minogue.

Melbourne Marriott Hotel, CBD

Melbourne Marriott Hotel, CBD

  • Location: Melbourne’s CBD with easy access to public transport and car parking.

  • Room Types: Superior rooms, executive rooms and suites with panoramic views of the city or Yarra River. Suites include private balconies with views of the city or Yarra River. The hotel also has an exhibition hall that can accommodate up to 400 people for cocktail functions.

  • Amenities: A gymnasium, indoor pool and sauna are available for guests’ use; wedding packages include free Wi-Fi in public areas during your stay if you book 10 nights or more through the Marriott website or app; there is also a dedicated wedding concierge service onsite at this venue (more details below).

  • Wedding Packages: This venue offers two different types of packages – The Classic Package includes accommodation in one of their standard guest rooms plus meals from their buffet breakfast menu (on selected dates), as well as exclusive use of the Grand Ballroom for your reception; The Premium Package includes accommodation in one of their suite categories along with meals from their buffet breakfast menu (on selected dates), as well as exclusive use of both Grand Ballrooms for your reception plus a selection of other amenities such as flowers/decorations provided by Reception Designs (one month prior notice required), champagne & fruit platters served at arrival time etc... Please note these packages do not include alcohol so you will need to source this separately through another supplier such as [Alcohol Supplier].

Campanile Restaurant and Rooms, Carlton North

Campanile Restaurant and Rooms is located at 718 Rathdowne Street, Carlton North. The venue features a full-service restaurant and bar that can accommodate up to 80 guests for a sit-down wedding and 120 guests for a cocktail reception. The space has been used as a wedding venue since 1996 and the current owners have worked there since 2014.

The food at Campanile is unique and delicious—the menu includes locally sourced ingredients, as well as some more unusual options like emu meatballs or fried chicken sandwiches with bacon jam (yum!). There are also five different types of vegetarian dishes available every day of the week.

The service at Campanile is excellent as well—the staff goes out of their way to make sure everything runs smoothly from beginning to end so you can relax and enjoy yourself on your special day! They also offer free parking in their nearby lot if you want to drive yourself there instead of taking public transportation or having someone else drive you around town all night long (which would obviously suck).

Melbourne Zoo, Parkville

If you’re looking to have your wedding at a location that is both unique and memorable, Melbourne Zoo is the perfect venue for you. Located in Parkville, this zoo venue offers a variety of different animals and venues to choose from. The zoo can host up to 200 guests and is open year round, making it an excellent choice for all seasons!

Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, CBD

With its stunning views over the Melbourne CBD, Sofitel Melbourne on Collins is a great option for those looking to marry in style. The hotel has an iconic rooftop terrace that can seat up to 250 guests and boasts panoramic views of the city from Rialto Towers to Flinders Street Station.

The venue offers a number of packages for weddings, including their White Wedding Package which includes ceremony chairs and seating for 30 guests; or you could opt for their Red Carpet Package which features red carpet entrance with white carpet aisle down the middle of your ceremony room; plus it comes with 11 tables each seating 8 guests, 3 tables each seating 6 guests and one table each seating 4 guests.

For photographers or cinematographers who have been dreaming of capturing some stunning moments at a wedding atop this iconic building but don’t want their clients paying through the nose, there’s also a discounted rate off their regular prices when you choose this venue as your location!

Abbotsford Convent, Abbotsford

Abbotsford Convent, located in Abbotsford, Victoria, is a historic building that has been used as a convent since 1884. The large complex of buildings is surrounded by lush gardens and has been used for weddings since 1999. The venue offers two ceremony spaces: the Chapel and the Quire Room at the grounds' main building."

Parliament House of Victoria, East Melbourne

Parliament House of Victoria is the seat of the Parliament of Victoria. It is located on Spring Street in East Melbourne, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. The building was designed by Joseph Reed and built between 1853 and 1856 at a cost of £74,000.

The building was constructed with sandstone quarried nearby and brick imported from England. It has been described as "one of [Melbourne's] most familiar landmarks".

Melbourne has a lot of wedding venues to choose from.

Here are the top ten best ones:

  • Melbourne Town Hall: This is probably the most famous venue in Melbourne and is one of the oldest. It is located close to Flinders Street Station and has been used for many events such as concerts, shows and exhibitions. The venue can hold about 400 guests; however you will need to book early as it gets booked out quickly. You can also get married in their beautiful garden area if you want more privacy or space with your guests. This venue is ideal for smaller weddings (less than 100 people).

  • St Kilda Botanical Gardens: This venue offers great views of Melbourne City Lights along with good facilities for both indoor and outdoor weddings (up to 200 guests). If you're looking for somewhere close by town then this could be a good choice but bear in mind that it doesn't have its own parking so you may need transport or hire cars if required.'

There’s no shortage of beautiful venues in Melbourne and we hope our list of the top wedding venues in Melbourne has been helpful. If you have any questions about finding your perfect venue or getting married at one of these locations, please contact us today. We are happy to help!
